There are now 20 million Facebook users in the UK according to the Facebook Advertising platform.
The latest total was reached very recently and is up by over 10 million unique users from January 2008 (18 months ago). Even more staggering though, Facebook User numbers in the UK are also up by 1 million users on a month ago. The Facebook August 2009 User figures certianly make for interesting reading.

Average Age of UK Facebook users
It is often thought that Facebook is a Social Network for teens, this is clearly not the case. It is the twenty-somethings that by far top the age group for most usage with almost 7 million users in the UK. There are also almost 9 million Facebook users in the UK who are aged 30+, almost 44% of users.
Facebook Gender Split
The usage by gender in the UK is fairly even but there are still more women using the social networking site. Making up about 51%, with men at approximately 46% and 3% unknown.
Facebook Usage by Towns & Cities
The stats above show usage by hometown and network combined. Interestingly, Manchester currently has more users than London on the network. Cardiff was by far the largest city in Wales for Facebook usage. Edinburgh represented Scotland as the city with the highest user figures in the country.
